FAQs about .br.gy
Is .br.gy a second-level domain name?
No, .br.gy is not a second-level domain name; I am treating it as if it was a second-level domain name. Throughout this website I will refer to the sub domain name ".br.gy" as a second-level domain name.
How can I register a .br.gy?
The .br.gy second-level domain name follows a single registrant model; all the registrations within the name space are held by WQYU.COM to be used exclusively by, affiliates and other authorized users. The general public including third parties may not register a .br.gy
Is there a who is database a.k.a. whois database?
I made a whois database that you can look up only .br.gy domain name i.e. nic.br.gy, rafeal.br.gy, etc. Just go to the
whois page, enter the name i.e. abcmouse then press search or press enter.
Can I check availability of a name?
Yes, I made a check availability of a names that will show if a name you enter is available for registration, taken, blocked. Just go to the
check availability page, enter the name i.e. abcmouse then press search or press enter.
Why did you choose to register br.gy, why not a .com, .net, .org, etc?
Domain names are expensive, so in order to cut down costs I decided to register a short domain name and make sub-domains off the main domain name i.e. br.gy as that is the cheapest way.
If you want to use something that's really cheap, why not consider using a free domain name?
Using a free domain name has its pros and cons, some of the pros are: you can get a domain name that you can chose that looks professional like your-website.br.gy as opposed to your-website.hipposite.tld, if you do not like the web hosting company hipposite.tld you can take your domain name with you and chose another web hosting company.
While getting a free domain name has some pros, it does carry some cons, and some of the cons are: free domain name providers seem to come and go, so it is not always the best choice to use them for any website for a long terms solution, some may have requirements that you must meet i.e. have a link back to our website "free domain names by ... ... get yours today!, cannot use the domain name if your site is about cats for example, you also do not have any legal rights to the name. You also agree that the free domain name provider reserve's the legal right to be able to take the name that you are using for any reason with or without any notice.
How come you did not choose to use Milliscripts, a clone of co.nr?
The reason why I chose not to use Milliscripts, is the script only offers the ability to create a sub-domain names that will redirect to another website. The script is technically a redirection script. While the script has nice feature such as it allows, the user to register his or her own account, user is able to edit where the subdomain name will link to, it has a whois database, the ability for the administrator to block certain domain names from being used, I would say it is definitely is a wonderful script, just not what I am looking for at this time.
